Have a chat with your child about Friday’s local walk. Discuss what we saw and how those places looked different one hundred years ago. This week we’ll also be starting our ‘Called by God’ RE topic, learning about the famous characters from the Bible and history who have been called by God for a specific task.
This week we will be looking at Golborne and how it has changed over the years, including the reasons people first came to live in Golborne. So if you have a relative who can remember some of the things which have been lost, replaced or changed, then have a chat with them and collect information.
We researched lots of different masks and their uses from around the world. After this we created many different designs on a sheet to choose our two favourites. Then we painted both to make a two-sided mask.
We have been practising counting up to 10 in French. At first it took 54 seconds to go around the whole class, passing a bean bag and counting. By the end of the lesson, the children could count around the class in 27 seconds! Wow, that was a great improvement.
Next week we will try counting up to 20.
This week we’ll be covering column addition in Maths and explanations in English. So if you’d like to look at these over the weekend, maybe online, and just rehearse some of the features.
No… not two new students in our class… Adam and Eve was of course the first man and woman whom we learned about today in assembly.
Often we are taught Bible stories in isolation without knowing the order, or where in history the stories take place. To counter this confusion we decided to create a Bible timeline, the results of which will be published when finished.
Here we are feeling our hearts after running twice around the outdoor area and field. This will be done every day hopefully increasing to 5 laps by half term. Research shows it increases children’s concentration, along with the obvious health benefits.
